The Credit Karma Tax service is 100% free for all filings they support. So there’s zero upselling throughout the process. That helps keep the overall experience simple and easy with no stress wondering whether or not you need to buy an add-on service.

In order to file your taxes, you will need to sign up for an account with Credit Karma’s main credit reporting service. That’s also completely free, but it’s something to keep in mind. If you put a freeze on your credit files with Experian, Equifax or TransUnion you’ll need to lift those holds before signing up.
